Step 2: Select the appropriate power level

Once you’ve determined the right type of charger for your needs, the next step is to choose the right power level. The power output of a portable EV charger, wall box or DC charging station directly affects the speed at which your vehicle can be charged.

  • Portable EV chargers: Power ratings are typically between 3.5KW and 7KW.
  • Wallbox: Wallboxes typically range from 7KW to 22KW
  • DC charging stations: offer higher power levels, typically between 50KW and 350KW.
