3.5kW BYD Charger: Who Is It For?

A 3.5kW portable charger is suitable for drivers who:

• Drive relatively short distances
• Charge mainly overnight
• Want a portable solution
• Live in a rental property
• Don't want to install a wallbox
• Need a backup charger for travel

For example, if your BYD is parked at home for 8–10 hours overnight, a 3.5kW charger can provide a useful amount of energy without requiring the same charging power as a 7kW system.

7kW BYD Charger: Who Needs It?

A 7kW charger is better suited to drivers who:

• Drive longer distances
• Want faster charging
• Have suitable home electrical capacity
• Own a BYD capable of approximately 7kW AC charging
• Want portable charging without installing a wallbox

Is 7kW Twice as Good?

Not necessarily.

If you only drive 30–50 km per day and charge every night, you may not need the additional charging power.

Your home electrical system is also important. A higher-power charger requires an electrical installation that can safely support it.
